Monitoring, evaluation, research + learning case studies

We design and embed Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning systems that strengthen strategy, align teams, and translate data into action. Below are selected case studies demonstrating applied mixed methods evaluation, equity-centered frameworks, and systems-based learning approaches across complex environments.

National Health systems strengthening Evaluation

When national health standards meet real-world delivery, gaps emerge. I led qualitative components of a national-level performance and process evaluation in Cambodia supporting quality assurance reform, medical education transformation, and public-private service delivery coordination. By synthesizing complex, multi-pronged data into strategic recommendations, equity-centered analysis shaped how quality reforms were implemented across complex health systems and future programming.

Trauma-Responsive Health Care Systems

Statewide learning evaluation

Supporting trauma-informed care requires more than training, but also understanding on how health care worker learning funnels into everyday practice. As the evaluation lead for the Minnesota Department of Health Services (DHS) Growing in Responsive Care (GIRC) initiative, I designed and implemented a learning-focused evaluation to assess how trauma-responsive and culturally responsive practices were being adopted across Minnesota Health Care Programs. This led to the implementation of supplementary psychosocial support for health care workers and frontline workers given the immigration and safety crisis affecting their patient population.

energy access and climate

multi-country energy systems evaluation

Expanding energy access requires coordination across governments, cities, and development partners. As part of a multi-country evaluation of the Power Africa initiative, I supported qualitative research across Southern and Eastern Africa, working with stakeholders from municipal leaders to U.S. agencies to understand how energy partnerships informed implementation. These findings helped inform a follow-on initiative that strengthened knowledge exchange between stakeholders and countries.
